Worship on the Water set Sunday
Worship on the Water, a weekly joint ministry of local congregations will continue with an interdenominational service at 8:45 a.m. Sunday at the Long Homestead on East Niagara Street, City of Tonawanda.
The service lasts 30-40 minutes followed by a coffee fellowship time.
Those attending should bring their own lawn chair.
Worship leaders will bring their own traditions and style of worship.
All are welcome including boaters, bicyclists and dog walkers.

Simply Sue’s plans Friday Night Music
Joey Wright will play the electric guitar from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at Simply Sue’s, 44 Main St., in the City of Tonawanda.

Schofield hosts blood drives
The American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive from 11 am. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Schofield Residence Nursing Facility, 3333 Elmwood Ave., Town of Tonawanda.
Donors of all blood types are needed. New and current eligible donors are urged to schedule and keep appointments by calling 800-GIVE LIFE or 800-448-3543 or visit www.donatebloodnow.org.

Cat adoption center opens at mall
The SPCA Serving Erie County will open a temporary adoption center for cats in the Walden Galleria Mall in Cheektowaga today through Sept. 30.
The shop is on the upper level of the mall near Macy’s. Volunteers will work at the shop seven days a week during all mall hours.
Volunteers are needed to help make the adoption endeavor a success.

Adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, the first set of vaccinations, microchip identification, feline leukemia test, first physical exam and 30 days of free veterinary insurance and gourmet cat food.
Scleroderma support group meets
Buffalo Scleroderma Support will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Life Time Health Care Building, 120 Gardenville Parkway, West Seneca.
Refreshments will be provided.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
Adaptive water sports expo set
The Great Lakes Water Sport Institute is hosting a free adaptive and community water sports expo Saturday and Sunday at the new Erie Canal Harbor in conjunction with Buffalo Navy Days.
The expo will showcase the opportunities available to the community in general, with a focus on the disabled and disadvantaged.
Attendees are invited to participate in boating and all the various water sports to the fullest extent they are able.
Displays and booths will be on shore as well as sailboats which people can tour and schedule rides. The dock is wheelchair accessible.
