OLC Altar Society meets today
Members of the Altar Society at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in North Tonawanda will welcome members from St. Joseph’s Church at a 7 p.m. meeting today in the OLC hall.
Hostesses are Ann Bero, Dorothy Whitehead, Betty Najuch and Dorothy Witkowski.
Welcome back rally set Abiding Savior
“Gather, Grow and Go,” is the theme of a welcome back Rally Day at 9 a.m. Sunday at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 1534 Ruie Road, North Tonawanda.
Meet in the fellowship hall for music, crafts and refreshments. Class time follows for prekindergarten to adult will be offered. All are welcome.

DeGraff auxiliary plans barbecue
Tickets are available for a take out chicken barbecue by Korlick’s and a homemade dessert sale set from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 17 on the grounds at DeGraff Memorial Hospital.
The event, hosted by the DeGraff Hospital Auxiliary, will benefit the DeGraff surgery department.
Presale tickets are available at hospital gift shop Presale tickets are $8, $9 at the event or for chicken fingers, $6.50, $7.50 at the event. All dinners include potato salad and cole slaw.
Toddler storytime planned at library
The fall toddler storytime at the North Tonawanda Public Library will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday from Sept. 24 to Oct. 22 at the library, 505 Meadow Drive.
Children 2 years of age, accompanied by an adult, will be introduced to the library and the joy of books through stories, songs and crafts.
Registration begins Sept. 15 by calling 693-4132 ext. 5, or in person at the library. This activity is for the residents of North Tonawanda, Wheatfield, and Pendleton.
Ghostlight Theatre hosts drama classes
Starry Night Theatre School will conduct acting classes from 9 to 11 a.m. starting Sept. 13 at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda.
The classes run each Saturday through Nov. 22 when an acting recital will take place which will be open to the public.
Classes are open to all ages. The cost is $125. Applications are available online at starrynighttheatre.com. or by calling the theater at 743-1614.

Ukrainian food, music focus at fest
The annual Ukrainian Festival from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday will be hosted at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 3275 Elmwood Ave., Kenmore.
Indoor and outdoor activities will celebrate the cultural and religious heritage through dance, music, ethnic foods, church tours and vendor displays.
The program will feature Ukrainian dancers, traditional Ukrainian folk and dance music as well as Ukrainian foods and beverages, a chicken barbecue, baked goods, religious and ethnic vendors, raffles, theme baskets, face painting and balloon animals.
Admission, parking and performances are free.
