Spaghetti dinner set at Masonic Hall
An all you can eat spaghetti dinner will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Tonawanda Masonic Hall, 190 Minerva St., City of Tonawanda.
Tickets are $6, $3 for children and include a salad bar, spaghetti with meatballs, Italian bread, beverage and dessert.
Libraries plan development day
The City of Tonawanda and the Kenilworth branch libraries will be closed Wednesday for a staff development day hosted by the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library.
The Kenmore library will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ghostlight Theatre conducts auditions
Auditions for the stage adaptation of George Romero's “Night of the Living Dead,” directed by Paul McGinnis, will be conducted at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda.
Auditions are from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday with parts for 12 men, five women and 20 zombies. Candidates will be asked to give a cold reading and shamble in a group setting.
No appointment necessary. Play dates will be Oct. 23 to 26 at the Ghostlight Theatre.
Senior center hosts theme basket event
The annual theme basket fundraiser will take place Sunday at the North Tonawanda Senior Center.
Doors open at 1 p.m. and at 2:15 p.m. drawings will begin.
Entrance fee is $3 which includes 10 basket tickets a refreshment and drink ticket. Extra tickets will be available. A split club and raffles will also be featured.
The public is welcome.
Attorney for elderly visits senior center
Gary Billingsley, attorney for the elderly, will visit the North Tonawanda Senior Center, 110 Goundry St., from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Schofield hosts Red Cross blood drives
The American Red Cross will conduct blood drives at the Schofield Residence Nursing Facility, 3333 Elmwood Ave., Town of Tonawanda, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The drive will take place at the same time each Tuesday in September.
Donors of all blood types are urgently needed. New and current eligible donors are strongly urged to schedule and keep appointments to donate blood by calling 800-GIVE LIFE (800-448-3543) or visiting www.donatebloodnow.org.
Wynwood sets grandparents day
National Grandparents Day will be celebrated from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Wynwood Kenmore, 2971 Delaware Ave.
Free admission, food and refreshments will be offered along with tours of the facility.

Libraries gear up for preschool story hours
Preschool story hours are planned at both the Kenmore Public Library, 160 Delaware Road and at Kenilworth Public Library, 318 Montrose Ave., Town of Tonawanda.
The programs for preschool children will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 16 to Oct. 14 at the Kenmore branch and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Sept. 17 to Oct. 15.
Registration is under way and necessary. Call the Kenmore branch at 834-2842 or Kenilworth at 834-7657 to register or stop by the library.
Widows, widowers group to meet
New Beginnings, a group for widows and widowers, will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday in Father Cotter Hall at Blessed Sacrament Church, 263 Claremont Ave., Town of Tonawanda.

A chicken barbecue or rib dinner along with a Chinese auction will take place beginning at noon Sunday at Pekin Fire Company, 3024 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn.

Train show hosted at Central Terminal
Buffalo Central Terminal will host its third annual train show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the terminal, 495 Paderewski Drive, Buffalo.
Admission is $5 adults, $2 children ages 3 to 12 and $10 for a family.
Operating train layouts, craftsman’s corner, children’s play area with Thomas the Tank as well as door prizes and refreshments will be featured.
