Prevention of falls topic of library event
A program on preventing falls will be presented by the Health Association of Niagara County from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the North Tonawanda Public Library, 505 Meadow Drive.
Most falls can be prevented by making changes to the environment, routine and behavior. The event is free and open to the public.

Fire companies plan meeting
A meeting for the six North Tonawanda volunteer fire companies will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rescue Fire Company, 1241 Strad Ave., North Tonawanda.
A committee will be appointed to select a slate for the annual election of officers on Nov. 24 at Gratwick Hose Company. All members are qualified to become officers.
Chaplain A.W. Moldenhauer will present an update on the Christmas project. Volunteers are urged to attend.
