Tonawanda News — A drunk driver caused a four-car accident Friday on the Seymour Street Bridge in the City of Tonawanda, police said.
Gregory J. Loomis, 56, of Niagara Falls, was traveling south on Seymour in his 2010 Nissan Murano when he rear-ended a Buick, Lt. Scott Sheehan said.
“That Buick then hit a Ford truck, which collided with a Chevy,” Sheehan said.
Paramedics checked Loomis at the scene, but he, along with all of the other cars’ occupants, were not injured.
River Road was blocked off for a few hours after the accident, which occurred at 1 p.m. All four of the vehicles were severely damaged and were towed from the scene.
Police allege Loomis was intoxicated, but he refused a breath test. He was charged with DWI, following too close, failure to use the designated lane and speeding.
Loomis was also charged with operating a vehicle under a conditional license, as he has another DWI on his record that has not yet gone to trial, Sheehan said.
He was held for court.
