Tonawanda News — A woman who was allegedly part of a group that posted a phony Craigslist advertisement for an iPhone in order to steal from an attempted buyer of the device surrendered to City of Tonawanda police Wednesday.
Lisa D. Greco, 19, has been charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree criminal facilitation. She allegedly drove the getaway car after the attack, which took place Feb. 17. Greco, of Travers Circle, Amherst, surrendered on the warrant Wednesday morning.
The posting was put up on the site Feb. 16 and advertises a “mint condition iPhone 5” for $400.
“When the alleged seller was contacted, via text message, he instructed the victim to meet in the area of the Tonawanda Housing authority,” a release from the City of Tonawanda Police Department states. “When the victim arrived, he was jumped by two males, while another stood by and watched.”
During the attack, which occurred at 10 p.m., attackers stole the victim’s iPhone 3 before fleeing the scene.
The victim did not appear to suffer any serious injuries, according to police.
In July, police arrested 16-year-old David F. Geary of Lackawanna for his role in the incident.
Geary was charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree conspiracy and menacing.
