Tax bill mailing excludes residents

Tonawanda News — The 2013 Erie County and Town of Tonawanda tax bill, mailed out last week, was not sent to some residents, according to Town Clerk Marguerite Greco.

Others received multiple copies.

“It was brought to our attention this week, by a number of town residents, that they had yet to receive their county tax bill even though we mailed it,” Greco said.

Greco said the mishap does not change a property owners’ tax responsibility.

“Taxes are still due Feb. 15, 2013, according to New York State Real Property Tax Law, regardless if you received a bill or not,” she said.

Those who did not receive a bill or received duplicate copies should contact the clerk’s office at 877-8800 ext. 507.

Copies of the tax bills can also be printed from the town’s website at
