Tonawanda News — The Kenmore Middle School teacher who was placed on administrative leave due to accusations of criminal conduct is being investigated for allegedly engaging in inappropriate contact with a student, police said Wednesday.
The incident was reported to Town of Tonawanda police May 7, Lt. Nick Bado said.
Superintendent Mark Mondanaro said in a statement released Tuesday that the teacher was immediately placed on administrative leave.
“Student safety is always our first concern and we placed the teacher on administrative leave from all school district property immediately upon hearing the allegations,” Mondanaro said in a statement.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and no criminal charges have been levied, so the name of the teacher, as well as further details, are not being released.
